On Tuesday, October 13th, HFA will co-sponsor our 5th annual All School Open House. It will be in the gym of Hoboken High School, 800 Clinton Street, Hoboken. We have invited representatives from all of the area schools to be available from 5-8pm to speak with parents. We are working in conjunction with the Hudson County Alliance of Independent Schools and the Hoboken Board of Education to organize a forum for parents with children of all ages to evaluate school options in Hoboken and surrounding area.
We are very excited to host this important event – please feel free to drop in anytime between 5 and 8pm to meet with school representatives and parents to get your questions answered. We will also be handing out valuable information that summarizes the various programs – age requirements, tuition, if applicable, and registration/application deadlines. As you enter the Open House on October 13th, please stop at the HFA table to pick up the handouts and a map of area schools. We will have color coded balloons to identify the grades represented at each school’s table. (Starting at nursery (2’s, 3’s, & 4’s) through grade 8, at a minimum).
Last year, over 23 schools attended, including members from charter and other public schools. Parents were able to meet school representatives and get a sense for their educational options as Hoboken residents. We are also planning to have a table to distribute information about Special Needs programs. We hope you will join us on October 13th. Please tell your friends – even if they are enrolled in school – they may want to check out options for upper grades.
If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact Erin Bellissimo at firstname.lastname@example.org. HFA School committee members are expected to participate. Thanks!
