Remember the rainy day Easter Egg Hunt and giant yummy, bunny cake provided by Carlo's Bakery? Catch the making of the cake on June 1 on Buddy Valastro's reality show Cake Boss - only on TLC. You can see episode 103 of "Cake Boss" this coming Monday June 1st at 10pm EST on TLC (followed by a rerun of the season premiere). Thanks to everyone, especially the entire staff of Carlo's and TLC crew, for letting the HFA be a part of the show. Here's a preview from the folks at TLC: It's one of the busiest weeks of the year at Carlo's Bakery with orders pouring in for Easter and a last minute Easter Bunny cake turns into more than the team bargained for. And the family is nervous when Grace decides to cook Easter Dinner for everyone.

Mothers Day is around the corner (this Sunday, May 10th) and there are several things happening around town in the next week to show mom just how much we love, care and appreciate all that she does.
If you don’t have time for one of these then we recommend a handmade card and an extra hours sleep on Sunday.
In light of the recent swine influenza outbreak the Office of Emergency Management at Hoboken University Medical Center is prepared for an influenza pandemic should one occur in the Hudson area. “We’re ready,” said Dr. Angelo Caprio, Director of Medical Care Management and Emergency Management. “This hospital trains and prepares for many emergency situations on an ongoing basis. In the event that we do have swine influenza patients enter our hospital doors ¬– our doctors, nurses and lab technicians are trained and ready to react. ”
While residents may be concerned about their health and the spread of swine influenza, Hoboken UMC officials want to reassure the public. “Cases reported in the U.S. so far have been mild,” stressed Dr. George Safran, Director of Emergency Services. “Residents have no need to panic. Know the signs and symptoms as well as the criteria for swine influenza.”
Photographer Marie Papp kindly donated her time and talent to photograph the Egg Hunt and here are some of the highlights. To see more and purchase images that you like go to:

Despite the rain, we had a good turnout. There was a special surprise by Carlo's Bake Shop, who baked a cake and cupcakes for the crowd. They were also filming the presentation of the cake for the upcoming TLC series Cake Boss, about Buddy Valastro, Carlo's Master Baker--who served the cake. The series premiers on April 19th at 10pm.

Please mark on your calendars: May 17th for the 8th Annual Hoboken Baby Parade presented by the Hoboken Historical Museum. The Baby Parade invites young children and their families to promenade along the Hudson River in costumes, fancy dress and decorated strollers. It is a fun-filled (and free!!) community event, not to be missed!
Right now, we are looking for sponsors, specifically local businesses/organizations that cater to Hoboken children and families. Sponsorships start at just $100.00. There are so many benefits to becoming a sponsor, in addition to supporting the Hoboken Historical Museum. Proceeds from this event help to fund the children/ family programs offered at the museum throughout the year.
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in becoming a sponsor
